All Common Animal Health Conditions Respond to Natural Veterinary Medicines.

Dermatitis and Otitis

Itching and licking skin and scratching ears

The most common ailment I treat; and the most stressful for pets and their owners is dermatitis. There are so many versions, and so many reasons why your dog or cat can be itchy. I take time to establish the WHY for your pet. and work out a treatment plan to address your pets’ needs.

The itching could be caused by food allergies, environmental or seasonal allergies, leaky gut, or anxiety. Commonly prescribed veterinary medicines such as Steriods, Anitibiotics, Apoquel or Cytopoint can remove the symptoms, but as soon as these chemical medicines are stopped, the symptoms return.

This is because they DO NOT address the reason why; infact used longterm, these veterinary medicines will push the problem deeper into the body, causing a chronic issue, dependant on chemicals for symptom relief.

Natural veterinary medicine strengthens the body and ignites the immune system to overcome the issue longterm, safely and without side effects.

Senior, chronic, epilepsy and cancers.

As our pets age, it is inevitable that the metabolism will slow down, joints may become stiff and sore, with Arthritis, IVDD, Myopathy etc and chronic diseases such as Hepatitis Pancreatitis and Renal Failure, cognitive Dysfunction and Anxiety, Epilepsy or even cancer may become evident. All these conditions can be supported safely and effectively with Natural Veterinary Medicines.

For some pets we will use Medicinal Herbs in conjunction with Veterinary Medicines, to help reduce the side effect profile and increase energy levels and gut function. Some pets will transition entirely off chemicals and onto the natural herbs. Each case is different, and nothing is ever rushed, or risks ever taken. Health and safety are always paramount.

New Puppy appointments

Learn how to keep your dog healthy through all life stages.

One of my favourite types of appointments is with first time puppy owners. I value the time taken to discuss all aspects of Positive Puppy Parenting. From Early training and socialisation. Trouble shooting mischevious behaviours. Navigating the minefields of what to feed; Vaccination advice and Titre testing information, Chemical vs Natural flea and worm treatments. And all other questions that they may have, so they can keep their gorgeous pup in a healthy state for life.

Gut Issues and Anxiety.

The Gut is the cornerstone to health, for digestion and our immune system. If this amazing system is not working correctly, we can see other issues emerge; such as skin inflammation, allergies and metabolic problems. This is an area that often requires support, and where the power of natural medicines shine through.

Anxiety is part of our fast paced modern world. The Gut has an incredible number of nerves, so the two systems are closely linked. Some sensitive dogs can really struggle with seperation issues, or changes to routine. Some are affected by loud noises such as fireworks, or even extreme weather, wind and thunderstorms. Adaptogenic herbs offer fabulous support to the nervous system. Allowing it to move from the sympathetic fight and flight mode to the calmer rest and digest parasympathetic system.

Nutrition and supplements

Just like us, your pet is designed to eat real food. Some animals however, are better on a dried food diet. But not all kibble is the same. Most essential digestive enzymes and nutrients are destroyed during the high heat processes of commercial food manufacture and salt and sugars can be added as a way of getting your pet hooked on that food brand.  Many dried pet foods are carbohydrate based, with very little real protein included. Unfortunately high carbohydrate diets for cats and dogs can over time lead to more chronic health issues.  Herbs and real foods can do much more than provide vitamins and minerals; as they contain the instinctive ‘x’ factor, which leads to higher energy levels, and overall well-being, such as a playful nature, and shiny coat, and a lust for life.  We can look at how to feed your dog or cat in the best way to suit you and your pets’ needs.

Myofascial Release and Therapeutic Massage

Myofascial Release techniques such as Bowen Therapy, along with Therapeutic Massage treatments, offer a physical component to my treatment plan. All animals benefit from physical touch. It is a way of relaxing anxiety, increasing circulation, removing built up tension and toxins, and it is a pleasant way of spending time with your pet. In consultations, I will show my clients some simple techniques and routines they can follow at home to provide ongoing relief for their dog or cat. This gentle, physical therapy helps the body remember how to heal itself. This simple yet powerful technique sends neurological impulses to the brain resulting in immediate responses of muscle relaxation and pain reduction.

TCVM and Western Medicinal herbs

Natural medicine has proved its efficacy over thousands of years of use in both human and in veterinary medicine. Within my clinic, I mainly prescribe TCVM - Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicinal Herbs and Homobotanical Western Herbs. (The Medicines I prescribe are produced under strict quality control and are formulated for Practitioner only use.) Both of these branches of Herbal Medicine, offer me the ability to formulate an individual treatment plan, to provide the tools each animal requires to ignite the process of restoring health. Simply put, the body knows what to do with the herbs! Natural medicines can also be used safely alongside the conventional veterinary medicines that your pet may be taking. They will also work as a standalone treatment, for a wide variety of veterinary ailments.
